01 What is EuroCom?
01
What is EuroCom?
The shared workspace of the Save Europe initiative: chat, events, calls and country channels in one place. It runs on Matrix, an open protocol, on our own servers.
02 Who can join?
02
Who can join?
Volunteers of the initiative. You sign up yourself, and the team of your country unlocks the channels that belong to you. That step is done by a person, so it is not instant.

How do I get an account?
Open the registration form, confirm the e-mail, then sign in. The step-by-step guide shows every screen.
04 Which app do I need?

Which app do I need?
On a computer nothing: the browser is enough. On a phone install Element X. There the right button is Sign in, not Create account: see the guide.
05 I am in, but I see almost nothing.

I am in, but I see almost nothing.
That is normal on the first day. Channels are assigned after your country and region are set, and that is a decision someone makes. It can take a few hours.
06 I forgot my password.
06
I forgot my password.
Use the password reset. You will get a link by e-mail. The link is valid once: if you request a second one, the first stops working.
07 Can others read my messages?
07
Can others read my messages?
Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted, so nobody else can, not even us. Channels are not: what you write in a channel is readable by everyone in it. See privacy.
08 Do I have to use my real name?
08
Do I have to use my real name?
No. You pick a username, and it may be a pseudonym. Your display name can be changed at any time, and the e-mail address is only used for signing in and for notices.
09 How do I leave?
09
How do I leave?
Ask your country team to delete the account. Deletion removes the account and signs you out everywhere. If you think it was a mistake, the notice you receive carries a link to object, and that link stays valid for 45 days.
Still stuck? Read the guide first, then ask in your country channel: someone there has had the same question.
